Aftermath of 8.8 Earthquake in Chile

As of last count, the Chilean government headed by President Michelle Bachelet reported over 700 people perished as a result of the mammoth 8.8-magnitude earthquake that shuddered across a huge swath of central Chile at 3:34 a.m.

One of the hardest hit urban centers is the city of Talca which is just 105 kilometers from the epicenter in the Pacific Ocean. The tremor tore apart houses and buildings (2nd  photo),  bridges and highways and sent a tsunami racing halfway around the world (last photo).
